Young-jae Jang
Deputy Consul General Young-jae Jang joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2006. From 2011 to 2017, he served in the Korean Embassy in Beijing and the Korean Consulate General in Shenyang, China.
In the Foreign Ministry, he mainly served as a desk officer and director for China affairs, and also served as a desk officer for the North Korean nuclear affairs and Korean Peninsula Peace Regime affairs.
Prior to assuming the post of Deputy Consul General in Vancouver in 2025, he was the Director of Human Resources Laws and Regulations Division of the Foreign Ministry.
He has a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Seoul National University and studied in the Foreign Service Program for graduate students at Oxford University in the U.K.
