Minister Without Portfolio, Executive Yuan | Deputy Trade Representative, Office of Trade Negotiations, Executive Yuan

Minister Yang joined Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) in 1983 and has held a number of senior positions throughout her career including as section chief, deputy director, director, and director general with the Bureau of Foreign Trade. Since 2016, she has served as Deputy Trade Representative for the Office of Trade Negotiations for the Executive Yuan.   

In addition to her roles with MOEA, Minister Yang acted as Economic Counselor for the Permanent Mission of the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu to the World Trade Organization in Geneva from 2002 to 2007 and has been Chairperson of the Taiwan Council for U.S. Affairs since 2020. 

Minister Yang studied Spanish at Fu Jen Catholic University, Taiwan, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures from National Taiwan University.
