Jamie Doucette and Robert Prey will speak on 'Between Migrant and Minjung: The Changing Face of Migrant Cultural Activism in Korea' at the upcoming APF Canada Brown Bag Lunch Series on September 15 from 12:00 - 1:00pm. Facing demographic pressures similar to Japan and many Western developed countries, South Korean civil society is being forced to suddenly deal with its new multicultural realities. Migrant cultural activism has worked to break through some of the symbolic barriers between migrants and Korean citizens, providing greater institutional space for migrant workers and for multicultural policy than in some other Asian nations.
The Brown Bag Series is an off the record, in-house discussion of the current research trajectory of members of the Asia Pacific Foundation research team, or from invited guests. Please bring your lunch and join us. RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm your attendance.
