Gender, Violence and Justice in Myanmar
Our guest speaker Theressa Etmanski will be discussing the Gender, Violence and Justice in Myanmar. She will be sharing her recent experience working with activists in Myanmar fighting for women’s rights, providing insight into the country's current legal-political framework, identifying some specific barriers to access to justice for women, and highlighting important work that is currently being done at the grassroots level. Ms. Etmanski is a Canadian lawyer, women’s rights advocate, and graduate of the Masters of Arts in Asia Pacific Policy Studies (MAAPPS) program at UBC.
