Major changes have also impacted GVCs including the increasing international fragmentation of production processes that have changed the structure of global trade. Simultaneously, the pressure for companies engaged in international trade to build supply chains with full traceability and accountability for social and environmental impact continues to build. Companies are currently challenged to make their global supply chains more resilient without weakening their competitiveness. How can this be achieved?
