Please join us on March 16 to welcome Dr. Kei Koga for a presentation of his new book, Japan's Grand Strategy: Liminal Power in an Uncertain World, co-authored with Dr. Saori Katada. Using a historical institutionalist lens, the book traces four key turning points – the inter-war era between World War I and II, the Cold War era, and the Post-Cold War/Indo–Pacific era – to demonstrate how shifts in the strategic environment, leaders’ perceptions, and domestic constraints shaped Japan’s evolving 'grand strategy.'
This event will include a presentation by the author followed by a moderated discussion and audience Q&A.
We hope you can join us for this timely discussion on Japan’s role in a fast-changing regional order with leading scholars of Japanese foreign policy and international relations whose work sheds new light on Japan’s strategic thinking and policy trajectory in the Indo-Pacific.
Speaker:
Dr. Kei Koga, Associate Professor and Head of Division at the Public Policy and Global Affairs Programme, School of Social Sciences, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.
