Elayne Chow
Elayne Chow is on an audacious mission to transform wastewater infrastructure through decentralization — making it more accessible, efficient, and resilient to the impacts of climate change. As co-founder and CEO of Sankoya Technologies, she is leading the commercialization of a breakthrough treatment system to address the 365 million tons of untreated waste released into the environment each year while conserving water and reducing methane emissions.
Under her leadership, Sankoya has secured funding from Grand Challenges Canada, graduated from the Creative Destruction Lab — Canada’s premier deep-tech accelerator — and won the Asian Development Bank’s Technology Innovation Challenge for Urban Development.
With more than two decades in infrastructure transformation across electricity, natural gas, and telecommunications, Elayne brings rare crossover expertise in commercialization and systems change. Earlier in her career, she advised North American and Asian utilities as a management consultant with Deloitte and Navigant, and later became a top performer within SAP’s Utilities Advanced Analytics business.
Elayne holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Management Science from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from Cornell University.
