Melissa Lao

Maria Elissa J. Lao, DPA is Associate Professor at the Political Science Department, Ateneo de Manila University. She is also a Research Fellow of the Institute of Philippine Culture of Ateneo de Manila University and Director of the University Gender and Development Office. She is also currently the vice president of the Women’s and Gender Studies Association of the Philippines. Her current research includes work on social and political change and voter engagement, women and religion, and the education and training of women in the Philippines.
