Clare McKendry

Clare’s dissertation focuses on the evolution of Taiwan’s policy in South China Sea disputes. She writes extensively on China’s use of maritime infrastructure as a grey-zone tactic, autocratic regimes' use of shadow fleets, and cross-Strait relations. She is a former Visiting Research Fellow at the Institute for National Defence and Security Research in Taipei, Taiwan. Elsewhere, she has published with the Canadian Network for Research on Security, Extremism, and Society on researcher safety and research trauma recommendations for universities, supervisors, and researchers.
