Lydia Zhou

Lydia started as a Foreign Service Officer at Global Affairs Canada in 2022. She holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Ottawa. Her coursework and research focused on international relations, public policy, federalism, climate policy, and Indigenous reconciliation. Her professional and academic work has brought her to Belgium, China, Germany, Mexico and Myanmar. She is interested in how Canada can strengthen its engagement with Asia through practical, inclusive, and mutually beneficial approaches to economic and sustainable development, and how its efforts in Asia are integrated within its broader foreign policy objectives.
