James Curran Keystone

On April 15, APF Canada hosted a discussion with Dr. James Curran, professor of modern history at the University of Sydney and an expert on Australian politics and foreign affairs.

In a moderated discussion with Vina Nadjibulla, APF Canada's Vice-President Research & Strategy, Dr. Curran offered reflections on how Australia and Canada are navigating a rapidly changing global environment marked by intensifying great-power competition, geopolitical fragmentation, and growing pressures on the international order. He also offered reflections on the evolution of Australia’s relationship with China and what it reveals about the opportunities and constraints facing middle powers today.
