Lucya Park is a business student at Simon Fraser University concentrating in International Business and Marketing. She is passionate about international trade, public affairs, world sustainability, and cultural integration. She is especially interested in relations between South and North Korea and cultural exchanges aimed at a peace treaty on the Korean Peninsula. Growing up as Korean-Canadian, Lucya had the advantage of gaining cross-cultural experiences. To extend her study in Chinese culture, she studied abroad in Jilin, China. She also worked and volunteered as an office assistant and a mentor in South Korea. She constantly seeks to learn about and experience different cultures.
Outside of school and work, she enjoys watching documentaries and movies, playing cello, drawing, and going on hikes. Her closest friends and family describe her as organized, creative, passionate, and honest. Depending on the situation, she can either be a leader or a follower.
Through this opportunity, Lucya hopes to increase her knowledge and experience related to the Asia Pacific. She wishes to contribute her cross-cultural knowledge and skills to young Canadians interested in Asia. Lucya hopes to become an intermediary who can connect and build a stronger relationship between Asian Pacific countries and Canada.
