May 7: Canada's Investment Monitor 2019: Stories From the City Level
The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada is proud to announce the launch of its signature, annual Investment Monitor report, which delves into foreign direct investment (FDI) between Canada and the Asia Pacific.
The 2019 report’s main focus on city-level FDI between Canada and the Asia Pacific is the first data-driven analysis at this level of detail on an issue that has captivated business headlines across Canada. It answers key questions on the who, what, where, when, and how of the Asia Pacific region’s investment into Canada – and conversely, on Canada’s own investments across the Asia Pacific.
By harnessing primary sources and in-depth research, the 2019 Report adds much-needed nuance to flashpoint discussions on the future of Canada’s economic engagement with the Asia Pacific.
The launch coincides with the online release of new data through investmentmonitor.ca, which allows Canadians to use easily accessible data visualization tools to uncover novel stories about the Canada-Asia Pacific investment relationship, right down to their local cities and sectors.
