John Witt

John Witt is Chairman of Hongkong Land Holdings and chairs the Company’s Investment, Nominations, and Remuneration Committees. He was the Group Managing Director of Jardine Matheson Holdings, a diversified Asia-focused group, until December 2025, having joined the Group in 1993. John served as Chairman of DFI Retail Group, Chairman of Jardine Cycle & Carriage, and Managing Director of Mandarin Oriental International. He was a Commissioner of PT Astra International and served as the Chairman of Astra’s Executive Committee. From 2016 to 2020, he was Group Finance Director of Jardine Matheson and previously held a number of senior positions throughout Jardine Matheson’s portfolio of companies.

In addition to his corporate responsibilities, John is a Board Member at M+ Museum in Hong Kong and a Trustee of the Asian Cultural Council, serving also as a Director of Asia Cultural Council’s Hong Kong Foundation. He is a Member of the University of Toronto’s Asia International Leadership Council and the HKUST Business School Advisory Council and chairs the Voting Members Committee of the Hong Kong Riding for the Disabled Association. He is a Governor of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and its former Chairman.

Born in Ottawa, Canada, John has an MBA, with Distinction, from INSEAD, and is a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant with an undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto (Trinity College).
