Francesco Sorbara

Member of Parliament, Vaughan-Woodbridge, Ontario

Francesco Sorbara has represented the riding of Vaughan-Woodbridge since 2015. An economist by training and a CFA Charterholder, Francesco worked in the global financial markets in both Canada and the United States for JPMorgan Chase, DBRS, and the Bank of Nova Scotia. 

Born and raised in Prince Rupert, B.C., Francesco earned an honours degree in economics & finance from Simon Fraser University and a Master of Arts (Economics) from the University of Toronto. Before entering public life, Francesco worked in the private sector for approximately twenty years.

Today, MP Francesco Sorbara sits on the Standing Committees of Industry and Technology, Natural Resources, and Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics. He also serves as President of the Canada-Europe Parliamentary Association, and Vice-Chair of the Canada-United States and Canada-Italy Inter-Parliamentary Group, among many other Interparliamentary Friendship Groups. In addition to these responsibilities, in 2023, MP Sorbara co-founded the All-Party Insurance Caucus.

Francesco is driven by his community and works with colleagues to create a resilient Canadian economy that leaves no one behind.
