His Excellency David Hartman

His Excellency David Hartman, the current Ambassador of Canada to the Philippines, has a distinguished career in international relations.

Before his appointment as Ambassador, he served as the director general of Canada’s South Asia Bureau, overseeing seven countries. His previous roles include serving as the director general of Canada’s South Asia Bureau and the Investment Bureau of Canada.

Ambassador Hartman’s diplomatic career began in 1998, and he has since been involved in various capacities with Canada’s Parliament and Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.

His appointment as Ambassador to the Philippines was made on the advice of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on November 4, 2022.
