Sharmila Sriram

Founder & CEO, Spectrum Medical Diagnostics

Sharmila Sriram is an award-winning, visionary entrepreneur and Founder and CEO of Spectrum Medical Diagnostics Inc. and ResultsPlus Inc., based in Mississauga, Ontario. With over 30 years of experience in the medical device and healthcare sector, and more than 17 years as a company founder and operator, she is recognized for advancing scalable, impact-driven innovations that strengthen diagnostic care and public health systems globally.

Through Spectrum Medical Diagnostics, Sharmila has built a trusted portfolio of point-of-care diagnostic solutions serving healthcare providers, public health programs, and communities across North America and internationally. Recognizing that healthcare begins with clean water, she recently expanded the company’s mission into Cleantech with PureGuard, a patented water filtration solution for healthcare, community infrastructure, disaster-response & other humanitarian settings.

She also leads ResultsPlus Inc., the company behind Results+, a patent-pending, AI-driven platform where innovative modules are being developed to optimize early detection, clinical decision-making, predictive insights, and system-level prevention across diagnostic care.  In parallel, a dedicated AI module for PureGuard is being developed to generate long-term, data-driven insights into water safety, system performance, and sustainability outcomes. By integrating environmental and health data, this module is designed to inform preventative strategies, support ESG reporting, and deepen understanding of the relationship between water quality and infectious disease risk — extending preventative healthcare principles into clean water and environmental systems.

Sharmila’s contributions to healthcare innovation and public health have been formally recognized with the BMO STEM Spotlight Award, Top 25 Women of Influence, Top 50 Over 50 in Canada, the WBE Canada Top Supplier Award, as well as an Honourable Mention from the Honourable Sylvia Jones, Ontario Minister of Health, in recognition of her contributions to advancing healthcare.   She also serves on the Arthritis Society of Canada National Council, reflecting her personal commitment to improving outcomes for people living with chronic disease and advancing patient-centred, preventative healthcare.   In parallel, she is a committed advocate for women in STEM, contributing to the development of resilient, inclusive healthcare systems globally.
