Douglas Brenton Anderson
Douglas Brenton Anderson will begin as a Research Editor (Sanctions and Other Official Lists) at Dow Jones in Princeton, New Jersey, at the end of September. He was recently elected Deputy Secretary-General of European Guanxi, Europe’s largest young-professional-run think-tank on EU–China relations, where he previously served as Editor-in-Chief. He has interned in Washington, D.C., with the Asia Society Policy Institute, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and the Hudson Institute.
Douglas holds an M.A. in Public Administration from Tsinghua University, an M.Sc. in Innovation, Human Development, and Sustainability from the University of Geneva, and a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Bishop’s University.
His research interests include Canada’s Indo-Pacific engagement, the China–Russia partnership, and sanctions evasion. His work has been published in The Diplomat, CABAR Asia, and European Guanxi. In his spare time, he enjoys travelling — having visited 41 cities across China — and is also a classical pianist.
