Dr. Sun Ryung Park is a Senior Research Specialist, Northeast Asia, at the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada. She is interested in green transition, energy security, and digital transformation in the Asia Pacific region.
Anastasia Ufimtseva is a Senior Program Manager, International Trade & Investment, at the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada. She holds a PhD in Global Governance from the Balsillie School of International Affairs at Wilfrid Laurier University with a specialization in international political economy. Her dissertation examined Chinese foreign direct investment (FDI) in the Canadian and Russian oil and natural gas sectors and she has published widely on trade and investment relations between Asia and Canada, specifically on FDI, governance, and energy policy. Prior to joining APF Canada, Anastasia worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Jack Austin Centre for Asia Pacific Business Studies at Simon Fraser University's Beedie School of Business.
Tuvshinzaya Gantulga a principal adviser at Rio Tinto Mongolia and an APF Canada Indo-Pacific Research Fellow. Previously, he served as the foreign policy aide to the President of Mongolia and the executive director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Mongolia.
As part of his reserve officer duties in the Mongolian Armed Forces, Tuvshinzaya was deployed to Afghanistan as a member of the Mongolian contingent that served with NATO troops.
Tuvshinzaya holds an MPA from the School of International and Public Affairs of Columbia University in the City of New York, where he served as an online editor of the Journal of International Affairs. His articles have appeared in Foreign Affairs and The Diplomat.
He is also a Millennium Leadership Fellow at the Atlantic Council.
Peter Handley is the founder of PHASE32, a consultancy specializing in sustainability and resilience. He is also a senior fellow with the European Initiative for Energy Security and a strategic advisor with The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies.
As head of unit and deputy director in the European Commission’s Directorate General for the Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, Peter and his team negotiated the 2021 EU-Canada Strategic Partnership on Critical Raw Materials as well as the 2024 Critical Raw Materials Act.
Tae Yeon Eom is the Project Manager of the "Where Technology Meets Security: A Canada–South Korea Policy Brief Series," funded by a Korea Foundation Policy-Oriented Research Related to Korea grant. He is a former Research Scholar with APF Canada’s Northeast Asia team.
Tae Yeon’s work sits at the intersection of technology and security policy, covering AI, quantum, cybersecurity, and space, with a geopolitical focus on Canada, Japan, and South Korea. He connects government, academia, and industry to advance Canada's technology and security co-operation across the Indo-Pacific.
Dr. Jeehye Kim is the Senior Program Manager of Northeast Asia at the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, overseeing the research program related to Japan, Mongolia, North and South Korea, and Taiwan.
Tanya Dawar is a Research Scholar with the South Asia Team at the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada. She holds a Master of Public Policy and Global Affairs from the University of British Columbia, a Master’s in Economics from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, and a B.Sc. in Mathematics (Honours) from the University of Delhi.

Elizabeth Donkervoort is the Senior Advisor, China Programs for the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada. She holds a JD and a Master of Asia Pacific Policy Studies from the University of British Columbia and specializes in legal and institutional policy analysis of governance, security, and regulatory frameworks, with attention to rights-protective safeguards, emerging technologies, and real-world governance implications in People's Republic of China-related and comparative contexts.
Jessica West is a Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) senior fellow and a senior researcher at Project Ploughshares, a Canadian peace and security research institute, where she focuses on technology, security and governance in outer space.
