The Centre for Asia-Pacific Initiatives at the University of Victoria is hosting a panel discussion on “What is the real cost of a $10 dress? Lessons from the Rana Plaza Tragedy – labour rights, commodity chains and shared accountability,” on November 6 in Victoria. The talk will focus on the recent commercial building collapse of the Rana Plaza in Bangladesh and some of the multifaceted and interconnected complexities that the Rana Plaza tragedy reveals about human rights, precarious labour, contemporary commodity chains, and shared accountability.
