Kim Tae Kon

Director General, International Cooperation Bureau, Defense Acquisition Program Administration, Republic of Korea

Kim Tae Kon is the Director General of the International Cooperation Bureau at the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) of the Republic of Korea. He has overseen major acquisition programs, policy development, and advanced defence technology initiatives during his multiple senior leadership roles within DAPA, including Director General of the Planning & Coordination Bureau (2018–2020), the Command, Control and Communication Department (2020–2021), the Defense Acquisition Policy Bureau (2021–2022), and the Advanced Technology Program Department (2022–2024). 

Since February 2024, he has led DAPA’s global defence co-operation portfolio. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from Sungkyunkwan University and a master’s degree from Duke University.
