Mapping the Asia Pacific's COVID-19 Response

The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada's new Mapping the Asia Pacific's COVID-19 Response project represents our cumulative effort to tell the Asia Pacific ‘story’ around COVID-19 containment and mitigation.

A geo-enabled overview of Asia's policy responses through a data-rich, interactive storymap, the project tracks developments in 56 Asia Pacific jurisdictions around COVID-19, with a specific focus on these states’ policy responses.

Take a video tour of our Mapping the Asia Pacific's COVID-19 Response storymap.

Monitoring government statements, statistical publications, and local media reporting since March 2020, APF Canada has generated and compiled proprietary analysis and data sets on public health, digital innovation, mobility, trade and investment, and social dynamics, all with the intention of identifying policy 'best practices' in the Asia Pacific that can inform Canada’s domestic pandemic response.

APF Canada has supplemented this project with data from our flagship Investment Monitor report and with publicly available data from the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, and various other sources.

As the COVID-19 crisis continues, APF Canada will update the project's reporting and data to uncover some of the compelling stories of innovation and resilience emerging from the Asia Pacific.
