Bontae Koo

Assistant Vice President Bontae Koo leads the AI SoC Research Division of the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI). He also serves as Vice President of the Institute of Electronics and Information Engineers, Co-Vice President of the Institute of Semiconductor Engineers, and Executive Director of the Korean Institute of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science.

He earned his M.S. in Semiconductor and Communications from Korea University in 1991. Since then, he has held senior research and leadership positions in the system-semiconductor field, including roles at Hyundai Electronics (Silicon Valley HEA & TVCOM, San Diego), Dongbu Electronics, and ETRI’s System Chip Research Division before leading its AI SoC(System on Chip) Research Division.
