APF Canada, on behalf of the Kakehashi Project, is pleased to invite all Kakehashi alumni to join a Watercolour Still-life Painting Workshop led by Atleigh Homma, yonsei artist and great-granddaughter of pioneering Japanese Canadian social justice advocate Tomekichi Homma.
Ms. Homma will present on her work and the ways in which her family history and Japanese heritage continue to resonate in and shape her practice and her artistic and personal identity. Following her talk, Ms. Homma will lead the group in a watercolour workshop, providing group and one-on-one guidance to participants on technique and application.
The workshop is open to painters of all levels, and all supplies will be provided. Participants are invited to bring a cherished item of their own—preferably something related to Japan—to include in the shared still-life experience.
The workshop will be followed by light refreshments and discussion.
