Vietnam

Vietnam has 1,381 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 35 deaths as of December 9, 2020. Confronted with the reality of limited tests, the government sought to contain any potential outbreak early on, suspending schools on January 16 and flights from China on February 1. These measures were followed by aggressive contact tracing campaigns as well as offline and mobile-based monitoring of individuals under quarantine. With recent daily counts of new cases in the low single digits, Vietnam's approach has garnered attention as a "low-cost model" to combat COVID-19.
